FAQ

Q: What is your turn-around time?

A: All of our window fashions are custom made, as a result turnaround time varies between product category. Our blinds and shades are 2-3 weeks from date of order to install date, where as our shutters and specialty items may be 3-4 weeks.

Q: How does your deposit structure work?

A: Since our products are custom made we do 50% on signing, and 50% on install, however we are always available to work with our clients to offer flexible payment options.

Q: Do you offer payment plans/financing?

A:Yes! we accept interact, and all major credit cards. We also have financing available O.A.C. through our financial partner.

Q: Where are you located?

A: Our showroom is located at 1965 Salem Road North Unit 7 in Ajax, Ontario. In the somerset plaza at the Southeast corner of Salem and Taunton.

Q: Where is your service area?

A: We service the entire Greater Toronto Area.

Q: Do you offer a price guarantee?

A: Yes! we guarantee the best price in the market, if not we will match and beat it (must be same product)

Q: is it true that a competitor without a showroom would have a better price?

A: No! we offer our customers peace of mind which means you know where and who you are buying from rather than buying from someone based out of their car. Due to our large sales volume we are able to reduce our cost, and pass those savings onto our customers.

Q: Do your products come with a warranty?

A: Yes! all of our products come with a manufacture warranty most of which are lifetime!

Q: Do you offer interior Design Services?

A: Yes! We have certified professional interior designers available to book for design and colour consultations

Q: How much is an Interior Design Consultant?

A: Our interior designers are passionate about helping our clients and interior design as a result our rates are very competitive – when you love what you do it isn’t work – as a result we charge only $100 + HST for a two hour consultation compared to our competitors which charge $120 + HST for an hour.

Q: How do I select the best shading option for my home?

A: Several factors will influence your final decision:

  1. How much privacy do you want?
    Some shades filter out light, while others block light completely, so it is important to consider the level of privacy desired when choosing a type of shade and shade fabric.
  2. What is the style and décor of your home?
    The colour and style of the shade should complement the décor of your home.
  3. What style of window are you covering?
    The size and shape of your window(s) will affect your options.
    Our certified and trained consultants have the expertise and training to help you choose the best options for your home.

Q: What are my colour options?

A: There are dozens of styles of shades and blinds to choose from, as well as hundreds of fabric options. That means we can help you find a window treatment that reflects your unique style. Contact us today or visit our showroom to see samples and get an in-home or in-store consultation to determine which styles and colours are best for your home.

Q: How do I clean my shades?

A: For minor cleaning, use a duster to remove dust or dab with a damp cloth. Avoid using cleaning agents or other chemicals that may damage the fabric. For major cleaning, please contact us.

Automation Questions

Q: Are automated shades compatible with other home automation systems?

A: Yes, We offer a wide range of automated options and we have automated systems that are compatible with leading smart home automation control systems. For example, brands such as Somfy, Crestron, Lutron, Control4, Savant, RTI, URC, Honeywell, Logitech, Wink and others.

Q: How do I program my shades?

A: Your shades come pre-programmed from our factory according to the size of your windows. After installation, our installers can adjust the settings if necessary, so there is no need for you to program or re-program your shades.

Q: If I order battery-powered shades, how long do the batteries last?

A: The length of your battery life should last about 18 months but will vary depending on three factors:

  1. The size and weight of your window shades.
  2. How often you adjust the shades.
  3. The quality of the battery (Elite recommends Lithium batteries for optimal performance).

Q. Do automated shades require maintenance? If so, how often?

Automated shades normally do not require any maintenance over the product’s normal lifespan. Should you have any concerns about the functioning of your automated shade system after installation, contact us.

Q: What is the maximum range for RTS remote controls?

A For reliable signal strength, your RTS transmitter (i.e. a remote control) must be within a 65-foot radius of the shade motor.
